May The Force Not Be With You!

If the “control force” is great with you, don’t turn it onto your spouse and your kids.  Use it to control your own stuff – work, clutter, books, clothing or whatever, if you must.  Just don’t turn that control beam onto the people you love as it will only move you further away from connection.

  1. I’m not a parent but I like to come here beacuse I teach young elementary children. If I can manage 20 plus children that are not mine and give them an education somewhere in there, then I have some advice to give (particulary on behaviour management). At the same time, someone with no experience with children could teach a some parents a thing or two about parenting! You can take the advice or leave it. Good advice is good advice and bad advice is bad advice no matter where it comes from.

  2. It depends on what the advcie is about, if it’s basic parenting to the ignorant (about abuse and neglect) and they have been educated sure. But in general if you are talking to educated parents you damn well be a parent as well, because learning about being a parent and proper parenting is VERY different from hands on, you won’t believe the difference in your understanding.
